Tantrum Doughnuts
Tantrum Doughnuts has been in Glasgow since 2015 but was a passion for husband-and-wife team Iain and Annika for way before. They first started selling their doughnuts at pop ups, selling out at local markets and food festivals. They took the leap to start a shop in 2015 and for over 8 years now has been one of my favourite sweet treat locations in the city. They have since expanded to 3 different locations, the city centre, Southside and the west end. Bringing their cheap eats to Glasgow !
Tantrum Doughnuts has become a go-to spot for anyone with a sweet tooth. This artisan doughnut shop has earned a great reputation for its creative, handcrafted doughnuts. The focus at Tantrum is quality, and it’s evident in every doughnut. They use locally sourced, organic ingredients whenever possible, and all their doughnuts are made fresh daily, ensuring that each one is soft, fluffy, and bursting with flavor. The shop is slightly on the pricier side, with each doughnut priced around £3-£4 each, however in my opinion it’s well worth the extra pennies.
Their signature doughnut is their decadent Crème Brûlée doughnut, with its crispy, caramelized sugar topping and creamy filling. For those trying to switch it up they also have a Pistachio & Hibiscus. But my favourite by far is the chocolate millionaire doughnut, a rich decadent chocolate filling with crumbs on top. They also have a variety of Doughnuts suitable for gluten free people, vegans etc. They also change the menu frequently, normally introducing interesting seasonal flavours. Despite being wildly successful selling their posh doughnuts they have recently expanded their menu to include Milkshakes, in popular flavours, which I can confirm are amazing. After being a customer for years, I can safely confirm that tantrum doughnuts are by far one of the best bakeries in Glasgow.
